This whole year is really flying by... But there is still work to be done!

Here is a drawing that I could spend a bit more time on.

The toned paper was a lot of fun to work on win this instance!

Here is a hand that I drew on toned paper. While this was an interesting experience, I still like drawing on good Ol' fashioned white paper better! Personally, I like un-toned paper better because I feel like I have more control over the shading.

Akoustikos

As some of you my know, I am a part of a classical guitar group that "tours" local nursing homes around the Christmas holiday season. Last Christmas, I started another blog (as a website) to share pictures and our experiences!

Well, out group is called "Akoustikos," which is the Greek work for acoustic.

In this "Heads 'n' Hands" assignment, I had to chose a masterful painting from which I was to then copy with charcoal medium. I chose a painting by William Bouguereau. I love the dark, dramatic lighting!

Here is another college post!

I wish that I could have spent more time on these, but because of time restants, and other classes, I could not put as much detail as I wanted into them. But I wanted to show you all just some of the things that I learned!

Each week in perspective class, I had to complete a drawing using the concept that I learned. In this picture, I had to draw something using "fish-eye" perspective. Yes, that is a LOT of windows....

Benefit Auction

Hello!

Well, the Benefit auction is here again... on Satutday the 19th anyway. Here are the scans and pictures of the things that I am donating. There are no prints so everything is original. I will do an update post after the auction to you all how everything went!

P.S. I am also donating a handcrafted necklace and earring set, but I do not have a picture for that as of yet....

Here is another sketch card! (I love doing these!) I completed it in pen and ink. I never used india ink before, so this was a bit of an experiment... But I have to say that I'm in love with this medium! But I colored it with prismacolor markers, as I usually do.

New Aceo!

Well, this is my first post in a long time! These past few weeks have been a whirl wind! Anyway, for this week, I completed this flower garden ACEO. Hope you will enjoy!

Here We Go Again...

O.k!

Man.... what a week! I did not have much time to draw, but here are some ACEOs that I never had the chance to upload. They are of Marvel's comic-book character Wolverine. The black and white one is in on illustration board. Pen and ink was the medium of choice. (I signed/dated it on the back!) Now, the one I colored was done with Prismacolor markers. It is on bristol board.

Well, I have decided to create a Etsy Online Store. Etsy.com is a online site that is just art and handmade items. I will be listing and selling from this site for a little bit. I really like the flexibility the user gets with Etsy, and there is no bidding-- buyers can just set up an account, and add items to their cart, much like Amazon.com. These are some ACEO art cards that I have just painted week. ACEO stands for Art Card Edition Original. They are only 2 1/2'' by 3 1/2''. ACEOs are nice little cards because they provide an affordable way to own original pieces of art. I have just listed them on ebay. They are all painted with watercolor on 140 weight watercolor paper.

Here is the first installment of art posts. With each art post, the work will be watermarked for safety, and I will give a brief story about the work. Ya ready?

This is a drawing of Elizabeth Taylor. I drew this when I was 16, so it is an older work, but I like to consider this my first commission! It was for a friend in my Home school Co-op group.

This next drawing is a Sherpa. The photograph that this drawing was inspired from was taken by my father during his first tour in Iraq. This plane is the type that he flew overseas.

This drawing is of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine from the comic book-based movie X-men. This was a lot of fun to draw, and was done just for my own enjoyment.

This next piece I like to call "On Tour." I drew it to express my love of guitar playing and music.

This last drawing is of one of my original characters. "Leo" is a living electric guitar with a attitude! This is just one of the drawings from my sketch-book.
